P1 EUROPEAN ART
"Promenade en Foret" by Camille Lesne (1908).
"Paysage Hiveraval aux trois Barques" by Alain Thomas.
Click on image to enlarge. Dimensions: 17 3/4 x 14 1/2. Purchased at Wally Findlay Gallery in Chicago in 1982. Camille Lesne is a French artist, born 1908. Her technique seems to be "large version of pointillism" laid down on a background color to create an "impressionest" image. The result in this case is, perhaps, a "soft rememberance of her times as a young person". In any event, her technique "works" and produces a unique piece of art. Value should increase with time.
Absolutely, One of our Finest Pieces!!
This has to be one of her best paintings! Please look at the enlarged photo at a distance of two to four feet.

Reader Note: For some years, some Blanchard Paintings have had authenticity problems. The owners of this piece suspect this may be one such 'questionable' piece, and, we are glad to discuss what we know with a new prospective purchaser. Regardless of the provenance, this is a very nice piece. In the last five or more years, we have seen Blanchard prices for authentic pieces as high as $ 26,000. We paid apx $ 2000 for this piece in Chicago in the mid 1980s.
