High detail Image 1 of large Herb Jackson painting. His technique in this painting uses oil crayon. He puts on layers of different colors and then scrapes back on the layers to expose underlying layers to create the image he envisions. The single most repeated comment I have heard from patrons or viewers who have followed him for years is to the effect "I have never seen a Herb Jackson painting I did not like". Certainly a true comment from this writer and all or almost all others I have ever spoken too.
The purpose of showing this cropped image is to show the detail. This is the only way on small monitors to see it. The painting in actual size is too large for computer monitors to show the detail you will see if you are actually looking at the painting close up or across the room. The technique is remarkable as are his images.
